Comprehensive DIY Fishing Excellence

Bush Pilot Hunter’s Retreat Lodge operates as a specialized cabin and bedroom rental facility as well as a dedicated transport flying service. For the 2026/2027 season, our comprehensive Fishing Retreat Package is priced at $16,000.00 per person, offering an elite DIY unguided experience in the heart of the Alaskan wilderness.

This all-inclusive week features seven full days and nights of adventure, beginning with a fully organized arrival journey from Anchorage to the lodge via BAC Transportation shuttle, Lake & Peninsula Air Service to Kokhanok Village Airport, ATV transfer to the beach, and a 20-minute landing craft boat ride to the lodge. Guests stay in our 2-story guest cabin featuring 8 private units, each 48×28 feet, with a center divider wall that creates a private 10×28-foot unit per guest. Each unit is fully equipped with its own shower, toilet, small electric range, television, in-floor heat with hot water heater, refrigerator, freezer, and Queen size bed. As a DIY retreat, we provide all food and beverages for your stay, while guests handle their own cooking and utilize the provided dishwasher for cleanup. On-site laundry facilities are also available for your convenience.

Your package includes 1, 18-foot aluminum boat with a 40hp gas outboard motor with a jet pump and 100 gallons of fuel, plus a 13-foot kayak with electric trolling navigational GPS trolling motor. Explore the centralized finger coves down to Kokhanok Village, which is the stopping point for all aluminum boats — Guests are permitted out into the big lake, but passing storms can produce swells of up to 12 feet high — before you go out on the water every day, check the weather. Each boat is shared between two guests and is equipped with a Minn Kota GPS electric motor and a 40hp outboard engine, giving you full power and range to explore the 77-mile expanse of Iliamna Lake. Pre-loaded fishing locations for each species are built into the GPS system, so simply select your target and the motor navigates you there automatically. Each boat is equipped with a navigational GPS, so you can explore Iliamna Lake with confidence and find your way back to camp no matter how far you roam. The package includes one fly-out on Wednesday to Brooks Falls for bear viewing, and one fly-out on Friday — your choice of 1 of 2 locations: the Kvichak River for Sockeye salmon or the Nushagak River for King salmon. All necessary permits, National Park fees, and land use fees are covered in your rate. While at the lodge, guests have access to Starlink Wi-Fi, an archery range, a gun range, and various outdoor games. To ensure you can bring your memories home, Guests are responsible for filleting, vacuum sealing, and tagging their catch with their name, address, and number of duffel bags, then freezing it for transport.

Please note that this package does not include Alaska resident or non-resident fishing licenses and salmon stamps, which must be purchased online via the Alaska Department of Fish and Game. While we provide all standard beverages, guests must bring their own alcohol or spirits. Kayaks are also available as a complimentary optional activity for calm-water paddling near shore. Please be aware that Iliamna Lake water temperatures average 50°F — falling into the water without proper gear poses a serious risk of hypothermia. Kayak use is at guests’ own discretion and risk.
