We are the only lodge in Alaska giving 100 guests a completely free week stay — but you have to book and pay in full to enter. Good luck to all.
How It Works
Every guest who books a full weekly reservation and pays in full for their 2028 stay is automatically entered into the Lottery Drawing. When you arrive at the lodge for your weekly stay you will fill out your personal Draw Ticket with your name, address, phone number, email address, country, and language. Your ticket goes directly into a sealed, vaulted box — accessible only by the Owner of Bush Pilot Hunter’s Retreat Lodge. No one else touches it.
This is a true wilderness adventure. The Chilikadrotna River runs through the heart of Lake Clark National Park and Preserve — a designated National Wild and Scenic River surrounded by dramatic mountain scenery, crystal clear glacier-fed water, and some of the richest wildlife habitat in all of Alaska.
The Drawing
The Lottery Drawing takes place in October 2028 for a free week stay in 2029.
The drawing will be held live on Zoom — so no matter where you are in the world, as long as you have a phone or computer and an internet connection, you can watch every ticket being drawn in real time. All 408 names go into the box. One by one each ticket is pulled out, the name is read aloud, and shown live on camera to everyone watching.
100 winning guests will be drawn from 408 fully booked and paid reservations.
The river corridor is home to an extraordinary concentration of Alaskan wildlife. Guests regularly encounter Brown Bears fishing and foraging along the banks, Moose wading through shallow river flats, Bald Eagles nesting high above the water, Wolves moving through the tree line, and Caribou crossing open tundra near the river. Every bend in the river brings a new experience and a new photograph.
For the Drawing to Take Place
The lodge must be fully booked for all 34 weeks of the 2028 season — 12 guests per week, totaling 408 guests. You can check the current booking status at any time by visiting the booking schedule on this website.
If You Win
- You will be notified by email immediately after the drawing
- Your free week stay includes everything included in the $16,000 paid weekly package — nothing removed, full experience
- You will work directly with lodge staff to schedule your 2029 dates
- Your free stay is non-transferable — only the winning guest may use it. If you cannot make it the following year your free stay is forfeited and cannot be given to another person
- You will need to bring valid photo identification with your name matching the name on your lottery ticket when you check in
Lottery Ticket Requirements
- Your name must be printed clearly in English
- If you cannot write in English — contact lodge staff and they will fill out your ticket for you. Please have your photo ID ready
- All names, addresses, phone numbers, countries and languages will be translated into English
- You must include your country and language on your ticket
